A birthday, a graduation, the first Halloween in a new house: what turns an ordinary room into the setting for it is usually thirty dollars of paper and ribbon hung well. That is the whole job we do, and we would rather do it properly than broadly.

Party goods fail in dull, predictable ways: the string is too thin for the card stock, the print is off-register, the adhesive strips take the paint with them. We spend our time on those details rather than on the photography. Card stock is thick enough to hang flat rather than curl, felt banners are stitched instead of glued, and the eyelets are reinforced where the weight sits.

Most of the range sits between three and twenty-five dollars, which is deliberate. Decorating a hallway, a table and a doorway costs about what a single boutique centerpiece does, and that is the trade most households would rather make.
“Decorate your party” is the whole brief. If a set cannot be hung by one person in half an hour and still look right in photographs, it does not belong in the range.
